Human beings are such beautiful, yet injured, creators. I&#8217;ve just now been reading  <a href="http://www.nybooks.com/articles/610">Secrets of Nijinsky</a>. Just a few moments ago, I was watching <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMqLLYrEF60&amp;feature=PlayList&amp;p=BF9E1FB931388859&amp;index=0&amp;playnext=1">the afternoon of a faun</a> on YouTube, having no idea who <a href="http://www.christiancomte.fr/htlm/presentation_christian_comtesite.html">Christian Comte</a> was, or what <a href="http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2009/06/29/090629ta_talk_acocella">he was up to</a>; fascinating!</p>
<p>My study of Nijinsky began last night, just  before our Calgary book launch. A friend (and gifted dancer) lent me Romola Nijinsky&#8217;s book about her husband. I think I&#8217;ll purchase <a href="http://www.ilab.org/db/searchbooksellers.php?membernr=2046">a copy</a>.</p>
<p>My reading of <a href="http://www.bookrags.com/biography/vaslav-nijinsky/">Nijinsky</a> has me in more books; Immanuel Kant&#8217;s <a href="http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/4280">Critique of Pure Reason</a> and Augustine&#8217;s <a href="http://books.google.ca/books?id=OykMAAAAIAAJ&amp;dq=Augustine+City+of+God&amp;printsec=frontcover&amp;source=bn&amp;hl=en&amp;ei=imETS7aaA4HOsQPHt4nmAQ&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=book_result&amp;ct=result&amp;resnum=5&amp;ved=0CCUQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&amp;q=&amp;f=false">City of God</a> are open.</p>
<p>Over the years, I&#8217;ve prayed for a lot of broken people. To be honest, I&#8217;ve prayed over a lot of people&#8217;s heads, their brains and minds. In the streets of many cities, I&#8217;ve met and listened to many mentally ill people, damaged wanderers, who seem deranged to most others. Quite often, I&#8217;ve heard the voice of God through these broken pilgrims.</p>
<p>A <a href="http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Marie_Curie">quote</a> of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Curie">Marie Curie</a> hangs on the wall of our dining room, &#8220;Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.&#8221; I once quoted the line to a friend, who replied inquisitively, &#8220;But what if it can&#8217;t be understood?&#8221; Yes, well, choose your own adventure&#8230;</p>
<blockquote><p>Joseph had been using an interpreter, so they didn&#8217;t know that Joseph was <strong>understanding</strong> every word. Joseph turned away from them and cried. When he was able to speak again, he took Simeon and had him tied up, making a prisoner of him while they all watched. (<a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/?quicksearch=understanding+&amp;qs_version=MSG"><strong>Genesis 42:23</strong></a>, The Message)</p></blockquote>
